Hello! Everybody,
My name is Shashi. I have just opened this blog, I live in
Bangalore which is still a wonderful city to live in, guess I
am biased as I have lived here all my life and seen it turn from a paradise to the chaos that is now so prevalent. A year ago I re-
kindled my hobby -Crochet, which I
dabbled in during my 20’s, then forgot about it with marriage and full time
office. Life went by, and last year with my husband’s encouragement I restarted
from the scratch, bought wool, needles, books, searched the web, learnt
all the stitches and lo behold a new saga began.
Crochet was first started in Arabia or South
America it’s not clear, but got popular in Europe in the 19 th century. The
story goes that a young shepherd boy used his stick to weave fabric in England.
The word Croc is a French word. My
heartfelt thanks to whoever discovered it.
Last year on a lark I put up a small stall in my apt
complex and to my utter delight sold a
few scarves, bags and doilies. From there on there has been no looking back, I
have a small venture going, I make some interesting and different items which I would like to display and
sell. These surely would enhance your homes and add to your clothes and
accessories. I realized not many people what crochet is, knitting yes, but crochet ? So I will be posting my creations hope you like them.
Cooking is my other interest, the all-important food in our lives. my amazing Grandmother, my dearest Mother and my wonderful Aunts were great cooks. Even as a young girl I was inclined towards cooking. My dear family thinks I am a ‘great cook’, Cooking is an art and involves lot of planning, coordination and imagination, which I enjoy, so I would like to share my skills, experiences and some tips.
